The Old Holborn Walk.

Old Holborn has been out doing Government-approved exercise again. Once a year is surely enough for anyone. All are unarrested and unmolested despite wandering straight into the outside toilet of Beelzebub himself. Snowolf muses on why so many people think the OH Outing will get arrested. He's right. The 'Oh no, you can't do that' attitude is prevalent now. A lot of people really believe that any deviation from 'the Norm' is actually illegal. I'm still amazed how many people believe it's illegal to take a photo in the street. Nobody ever said it was. When Jacq the Ripper was two-home secretary, she stated that it wasn't. Yet that 'it's not the Norm so it must be illegal' is still prevalent.

It is not illegal to walk around in disguise. If it were, police vans would be rounding up burqa-clad women and masked UAF yobs and heavily made-up tarts all over the country. They'd have had a field day on Halloween. It's not illegal. Many things are not illegal. People seem to be adapting to a world in which everything is illegal unless specifically allowed. That's not  the way it works in the UK, it's the way it works in much of Europe... oh. I see.

The Daily Politics mentions that the Parliament Square webcam was off for operational reasons again. I didn't get a chance to look at the webcam site today, but then it doesn't matter because it was off. That webcam really should be replaced. It breaks down as soon as anything interesting happens.

Old Holborn has an account of the day, including what it's actually like inside Beelzebub's outdoor convenience. It is, as you'd expect, nothing like the real world at all.

Which does explain a lot.

All the while hugging their smartphones with, yes, cameras in them...

It's off far more than it's on, that one.

walking in a public place without due deference
I'm also amazed at what a bunch of lily-livered, spunkless drones the English have become, but the reasons are reasonably clear. Britian and it's people's are under attack, see the Speccie on KGB infiltration of the Labour Party. Cultural Marxism innit?

XX A lot of people really believe that any deviation from 'the Norm' is actually illegal.XX

But that was ALWAYS the case. until the 60s.

You should have heard my Granny when she heard I had told the dole bastard to "fuck himself sideways with a prickly pear plant". SHITE she was packing my deportation bags within the second.

How many times have I heard from the older generation "Ohhh, you CAN'T do that!!!"

Na ja? Fuckin WATCH me!

It was a fun day out and I think in some ways the purpose was clearer this year as last year we had no idea what would happen. This year different stuff happened but there was less of a feeling of lets do this and see what happens.
