Child abuse.

Rather, abuse by children. A selection:

In England, one teacher a day, on average, visits hospital after being attacked by the ravening creatures they are trying to teach.

Children use the law to control their teachers. Of the allegations of abuse levelled at teachers by children, one in nineteen out of twenty are found to have no foundation. In each case, the teacher is suspended and treated as guilty anyway, and the false accusation remains on file. Forever.    (thanks to Kynon in the comments for pointing out the originally erroneous quote)

Around sixteen days a year of every teacher's time is wasted just getting the hideous little brats to settle down. There are no consequences to being disruptive and they know it.

So, who's surprised to hear that people don't want to take up teaching any more?

The Brown Gorgon has aspirations to be a teacher when he's booted out next year. Good. I hope he personally experiences everything he's done to the teachers so far. Every single day.

Then again, if you're a famous author of children's books and you're invited to speak to a class about your work, under supervision of the teacher, you have to pay £64 for a CRB check or you don't get in. Fortunately, writers have this habit of thinking for themselves and many are saying 'stuff it'.

All the emphasis is on child safety, while the children are free to do what they like to who they like. They are perfectly safe. It's the adults who are in danger.

You wouldn't get me in front of a class of these things without an armed escort with shoot-to-kill orders. And I'd want every moment of that visit recorded on film, with no breaks in filming, for later replay in court. It's not likely to be a problem. I don't like children and have no interest in teaching them anything at all. I won't be taking up teaching.

I know that not every child is the spawn of Satan, but he's certainly been very busy lately. I wonder if he buys his Viagra from the spammers?

The kids are just another sign of a degrading society.

It's not really their fault, much the way a kid brought up via a Nazi family and Hitler Youth, pummeled daily with Nazi propaganda and teachings couldn't be blamed very much for being a nazi.

They are to be pitied, like the rest of Britain's population, until they are put through a better education.

What can you expect with Labour putting it's "philosophy" into everything teachers have to force on their unwilling pupils?

Teachers
And who brought this about? The teachers themselves. Who was it who voted to end corporal punishment? Who voted to end or curtail extra-curricular activities? Who is it that's resisted every attempt to make it possible to get rid of bad teachers? Who brought in "permission slips"? Who is it that's failing to teach our kids, to the point that a significant proportion leave school functionally illiterate?

All that you say above is true, but teachers made a rod for their own backs.

Another faceless group of rulers to order us around, with powers to keep us out of employemnt if we offend.

How many more can they create? Soon we'll all be employed in watching each other.

You may want to change your link - the article states that only 1-in-20 leads to a conviction, but you've put "one in twenty are found to have no foundation".

5% spurious vs 95% spurious...

(apologies for the pedantry)

Of course only a small number of children are Spawn Of Satan, but it's the phenomenom that 'a pinch of shit spoils a bucket of porridge', one little git like this can ruin it for twenty other kids plus teacher. And so a couple of other kids get in on the act as well and it snowballs.

There'll always be some kids who take school really seriously and some who don't care at all. Most are in the middle somewhere. They are the ones who respond to 'if you do this you'll be rewarded and if you do that you'll be punished'.

Nowadays, the bad kids get the rewards and the good kids get dumped on. They get iPods for bullying and reprimanded as elitist for winning. So the general population of 'undecided' go where they'll get the rewards.

The scary part is, the entire education system seems to be run by people who can't grasp that simple premise.

Those running education are incapable of learning. I don't see any way out of that short of a complete shutdown and starting again.

Yes, possibly the only instance I can think of where the Left has actually bourne the brunt of the consequences of their social engineering.

Talk about blowback.

Made a rod for their backs? Ooh, Miss, he said a rude word. The metaphor is quite unacceptable. (How about "made a school exclusion policy that applied to themselves"?)

seems to be currently doing the email rounds as it's just landed in mine:

Q. A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price.
What is his profit?

What is his profit?

Q. A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100. His cost of production is £80.
How much was his profit?

4. Teaching Maths In 2000

Q. A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100. His cost of production is £80 and his profit is £20.
Your assignment: Underline the number 20.

5. Teaching Maths In 2005

Q. A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is selfish and inconsiderate and cares nothing for the habit of animals or the preservation of our woodlands. Your assignment: Discuss how the birds and squirrels might feel as the logger cut down their homes just for a measly profit of £20.

6 . Teaching Maths In 2009

Q. A logger is arrested for trying to cut down a tree in case it may be offensive to Muslims or other religious groups not consulted in the felling licence. He is also fined a £100 as his chainsaw is in breach of Health and Safety legislation as it deemed too dangerous and could cut something. He has used the chainsaw for over 20 years without incident however he does not have the correct certificate of competence and is therefore considered to be a recidivist and habitual criminal. His DNA is sampled and his details circulated throughout all government agencies. He protests and is taken to court and fined another £100 because he is such an easy target. When he is released he returns to find Gypsies have cut down half his wood to build a camp on his land. He tries to throw them off but is arrested, prosecuted for harassing an ethnic minority, imprisoned and fined a further £100. While he is in jail the Gypsies cut down the rest of his wood and sell it on the black market for £100 cash. They also have a leaving BBQ of squirrel and pheasant and depart leaving behind several tonnes of rubbish and asbestos sheeting. The forester on release is warned that failure to clear the fly tipped rubbish immediately at his own cost is an offence. He complains and is arrested for environmental pollution, breach of the peace and invoiced £12,000 plus VAT for safe disposal costs by a regulated government contractor.

Your assignment: How many times is the logger going to have to be arrested and fined before he realises that he is never going to make £20 profit by hard work, give up, sign onto the dole and live off the state for the rest of his life?

7. Teaching Maths In 2010

Q. A logger doesn’t sell a lorry load of timber because he can’t get a loan to buy a new lorry because his bank has spent all his and their money on a derivative of securitised debt related to sub- prime mortgages in Alabama and lost the lot with only some government money left to pay a few million pound bonuses to their senior directors and the traders who made the biggest losses.
The logger struggles to pay the £1,200 road tax on his old lorry however, as it was built in the 1970s it no longer meets the emissions regulations and he is forced to scrap it.
Some Bulgarian loggers buy the lorry from the scrap merchant and put it back on the road. They undercut everyone on price for haulage and send their cash back home, while claiming unemployment for themselves and their relatives. If questioned they speak no English and it is easier to deport them at the governments expense. Following their holiday back home they return to the UK with different names and fresh girls and start again. The logger protests, is accused of being a bigoted racist and as his name is on the side of his old lorry, he is forced to pay £1,500 registration fees as a gang master.

The Government borrows more money to pay more to the bankers as bonus’ are not cheap. The parliamentarians feel they are missing out and claim the difference on expenses and allowances.
You do the maths.

I met an old mate from my schooldays a while ago. He waved at me in the street but I didn't recognise him at first because he'd gone almost totally grey since the last time I saw him, around 10 years ago (we're both 38 now, but I still only have a few grey hairs at the temples).

Yes, you guessed it - he chose a career as a schoolteacher. I admire him, actually - I wouldn't dare go anywhere near the evil sods without body armour and a big stick with nails in it.

I know two school teachers, both are wives of friends and both are nervous wrecks. And they're not at schools anyone would consider particularly bad.

The violence is just the obvious side of the problem. Even among the non-violent, there's an air of general insolence and the teachers can't do a thing about it. Kids don't do homework if they don't feel like it and don't even make up excuses. There's no punishment worth worrying about.

No wonder your friend was grey. Most teachers are these days.

Mrs Nobhead is a teaching assistant at an infant school in a council estate and she loves it. The parents congregating at the gates might look like the auditions for Jeremy Kyle Extreme Edition, but all the kids are really sweet and well behaved. They regularly hold fundraisers which are well supported even though no-one has much money and the sense of community is amazing. Its not all bad you know.
However this disturbing new rule that considers any physical contact such as hugging a child in distress or applying suncream as sexual abuse is seriously fucked up. Our next generation is going to have some warped veiws of sexuality, physical contact, trust and control. I also seriosuly disaprove of the Fundamentalist Christian propaganda that was handed out to all four year olds at the school telling them that literalist bible interpretation is scientific fact. More on this soon as IMHO this is far more dangerous than the Muzzies we usually carp on about.

Cyclops could not get a job teaching, he is 58 without any qualifications. He would have to be registered with the GTA (a NuLab unelected body to control teachers).
